Because usually these diets either starve them, don’t work, or they just mess with people’s metabolism.
So, say no to dieting. Say yes to EATING. Eating good food that will nourish you. Starving your body doesn’t help. Sure, if you are healthy, (in that moment) you might shed a few pounds in the beginning. But in the long run, your cells won’t get everything they need to work properly.
Remember that your body is not just one system. It’s actually an accumulation of several systems in careful balance. And all of those systems, need certain elements to do their jobs (just like you might need a laptop, or a design table) and keep that balance. (Such balance is called homeostasis if you were curious.)
Now, I’m not saying “don’t diet, go eat at McDonald’s everyday”. By doing that you’ll be starving your cells all the same.
But, stop counting calories. Make sure you eat every type of nutrient you can everyday. Complex carbs like whole rice or sweet potatoes. Proteins, one portion in every meal; and fats. Yes, don’t be scared of fat. Your brain is made of fat, the membranes of your cells are made of fat. So, add some kind in your diet (nuts, olive oil, avocado, etc)
The next time you decide to start a new diet, I recommend going with a nutriologist, and skipping the “moon diet”. Make sure you nourish yourself. Do that, and not only will your cells thank you, you will definitely see the difference in the way you see the world.
Lots of love
